Hello,
These days I decided to move from cinnamon to gnome. I installed gnome package removed cinnamon and today I find out that there is no sound. When I open sound settings I see only "Dummy Output" there as an output. At the same time it looks like the pulse audio is working:
> systemctl status --user pulseaudio.service
● pulseaudio.service - Sound Service
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/user/pulseaudio.service; enabled; vendor >
Active: active (running) since Wed 2020-05-13 17:51:08 EEST; 4min 41s ago
TriggeredBy: ● pulseaudio.socket
Main PID: 915 (pulseaudio)
CGroup: /user.slice/user-1000.slice/user@1000.service/pulseaudio.service
├─915 /usr/bin/pulseaudio --daemonize=no
└─998 /usr/lib/pulse/gsettings-helper
Any ideas, how to fix the problem ?
Thanks!

Your cards are just disabled, the sound settings should have another tab to let you change the profile or use
pacmd set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_00_14.2 output:analog-stereo+input:analog-stereo
Offline
I also tried the following command:
pacmd set-card-profile alsa_card.pci-0000_01_00.1 output:hdmi-stereo
Still .. no sound. In gnome sound settings the "Output device" drop down is just an empty list. Maybe I miss a package, need to install something?

Had the same problem after last update.
In my case pacman saved my asound.conf in a file named asound.conf.pacsave
so, solved it simple by renaming that file
mv /etc/asound.conf.pacsave /etc/asound.conf
Hope it helps.

I've got some progress. I have cinnamon and gnome installed - both together. When I log in into cinnamon first, then I've got sound. I can log out and then log in into gnome, I still have sound. When I log in into gnome directly - then there is no sound. The "fix" is to login first using cinnamon, then logout, then login to gnome. I guess the issue is somehow related to cinnamon?

This file does not exists on my system - either when logged in into gnome or cinnamon.

Install pulseaudio-alsa to have a proper config here, but that's beside the point anyway. Do you get kernel error messages regarding the HDMI? What's your output for
systool -vm amdgpu
sudo journalctl -b

Problem is solved when I log in using "Gnome XORG" instead just "Gnome", which is an option in GDM.
