[solved] Cannot use A2DP Profiles with BT-Audio devices

Hi
I am on arch linux (obviously), awesome-wm, bluez, bluetoothctl, pulseaudio. All packages up to date.
I cannot get A2DP Profiles working. (The sinks are "unavailable")

--> Googling shows, that there is a lot of users with a similar/same problem.

So, I found a lot of scripts with workarounds, but non of them works. Also, I tried bluez-git and other cutting edge packages.

Nothing helps. Sink is never available. Tried with JBL Speaker and Sennheiser Headphone. Same Problem.

Is this working for you guys? Am I the only one with this problem?

Do you have pulseaudio-bluetooth installed? And did you follow these instructions as well? Also this?

Edit: If struggling with Sink try the following:

sudo nano /etc/bluetooth/main.conf

Add a line in [general] on that file as follows:

Enable=Source,Sink,Media,Socket

See if this enables sink.

Thanks for getting back to me. I read the whole arch linux wiki up and down several times and tried all fixes and workarounds I could find.

I found a policy.conf file, starting bluetoothd with "--plugin=policy" parameter.

Removed it, solved the problem...

Bugged me for months.

Couldn't find this profile.conf but what worked for me to have A2DP on my Bose 700 was this post: https://pandasauce.org/post/bluetooth-on-linux/ from the amazing Panda Sauce.

I don't think this is related to the problem I have had. Also, such old threads should not be digged out, especially if they are solved already.
