help - wireless driver BROKE OS!

i was installing arch linux onto my old ThinkPad and it was going swimmingly big_smile until... i attempted to install a wireless driver for my device. I rebooted the device and a bunch of errors appear sad. I have not since been able to make it to CLI. arch linux works fine on my other ThinkPad (thank god, not that there is one) and so does the wireless drivers. I DO  NOT know what is going on. systemctl shows my wireless as inactive (dead) so i figured it was the device driver that i needed just adding
please someone help i had a very important key on that device and i will lose ALOT of IMPORTANT documents without it
i just need my device to boot so i can get the key out

Thanks - Anon

Option 1: boot a recovery / install medium (e.g., usb), mount your disk, and retrieve what you need.  Then install a distro more comfortable to for your use.

Option 2: follow the advice in the links in the previous posts so that we can follow the advice in your signature.  The second link in JWR's post is particularly good for teaching you to reason.  Failing that, we'd be left only to give you some (unpleasant) truth.

EDIT: while slightly tangential, I just had to look up where your signature came from.  That quote comes not from hacker culture, but from criminals.  If you want to learn about hacking, see another article by ESR here:

The interwebz attributes it to Phil Plait?
(except the "we are legion" anon-wannabecoolh4x0rz stuff)

Re: help - wireless driver BROKE OS!

Yes, it was the "We are legion" part I looked up assuming it was all from the same source.  And that lead me to the anon ... stuff.  The first part of the quote I quite like - which is what inspired me to ponder where it came from.
