Did Arch just drop nvidia-390xx package? I was using my old GeForce GTX460 with Arch for quite some time already. I always used nvidia-390xx drivers from official repo. Yesterday, I've bought new SSD for my machine and decided to do clean install of the OS. To my surprise, there was no nvidia-390xx package anymore. As a workaround I use one from AUR, but it's quite problematic when kernel upgrade comes out. I can't use Nouveau driver because it crashes on my GPU (I am using 2GB Gainward GTX460GS card which seems to be a little bit quirky). It's still not a bad card (not really that much slower than cheapest modern ones, like GT1030) and I want to keep using it for now.

https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/ … idia-390xx 2 months ago, because no maintainer that still had such a card was found for 2 years: https://lists.archlinux.org/pipermail/a … 29894.html
Use the -dkms package and install your kernels' headers that way it will only be problematic during major kernel upgrades and keep an LTS kernel handy for the situations that there haven't yet been any update patches. (Though as the driver is still actively supported by nvidia, they usually ensure that such an update happens timely)
