xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed after suspend

Hi,

I regularly have the following problem. With an external monitor attached to my notebook I go to suspend. When the notebook wakes up, the screens stays blank (no matter if the external monitor is attached or not).

Using tty still works however.

When I try to reconfigure my screen settings via a

DISPLAY=:0 xrandr --output DP2-1 --auto --output eDP1 --auto --scale 2x2

I get the following output

xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed
crtc 0: 3840x2160 60.00 +0+0 "DP2-1"
crtc 0: disable
crtc 1: disable
crtc 2: disable
crtc 3: disable
screen 0: revert
crtc 0: revert
crtc 1: revert
crtc 2: revert
crtc 3: revert

In xorg.0.log I can find the line

(EE) intel(0): Failed to prepare CRTC for page flipping, disabling TearFree

My x.org.d folder only contains input device specific commands.

A reboot resolves the problem, but of course, my graphical session is terminated in that case.
