I really like the icon theme more than anything.  I guess the background's nice too.  The evolution icons are totally huge, and I haven't gotten around to fixing it.

Re: September 2006 Screenshots

Working:
screenshotck1.th.png

Clean:
screenshotjx0.th.png

Most of the Tango stuff is courtesy of Lockheed
Metaciy theme is from Lockheed's tempura suite
http://lokheed.deviantart.com/

gtk-engines-cvs (for Clearlooks-Cairo engine) and gaim-svn from Shadowhand's repo (found here on the forums)

GTK theme and Wallpaper found here:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show. … 3496a41123

Icons are a mix of the Arch tango package (from the AUR, I think), Lokheed's Tango-Unabashed, and Tango-Noir (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show. … 3496a41123).  Since they're all based from Tango, I think they've mixed with one another as I've insalled them on my system.

It all changes frequently... but damn, it looks fine right now (it looks even better in person...).

Re: September 2006 Screenshots

Why do a lot of the Linux users still use the Windows-like toolbar and icons on their desktop?!!!

In my opinion the icons are not very handy because the desktop is full with programs when working, so the icons not visable.

And the toolbar is only using space, where there are other possibilities to switch programs/ desktops.....

Just something I was thinking about...

But defenately all small peaces of art those desktops, looking very nice lol   lol

Nothing special. I have been asked a few times about the row of icons on the bottom of the screen, though. It's just a regular gnome panel with the transparency turned all the way down and a bunch of app launchers.

I'm not using dmenu at the moment. I haven't seen the need just as yet.

dmenu was one of the first things I added, so that I could start miscellaneous GUI applications without a terminal. I'm not a fan of that extra terminal hanging around.

#!/bin/sh
`echo -n | dmenu`

Any miscellaneous GUI's ( just a few wink ) I've set a key-binding before compiling.
