plasma-5.19.0: issues with memory usage

Hi there,
After updating to plasma-5.19.0 I rebooted and immediately noticed the higher memory usage.
On the desktop-PC I usually start with something around 280MB, now I am at 740MB.
The bad thing is that this keeps increasing. An idle plasmashell will slowly collect memory.
Adding plasmoids to the desktop also adds memory that seems to never be freed up again.
I actually get a slight increase in memory when removing widgets from a desktop I just booted into.
Especially bad seem to be the new sensor plasmoids.

On my Laptop I did the update yesterday and rebooted. Since then plasmashell uses 2.5x the memory it started with.
I started urxvt + firefox after login and had dolphin open just once, on top of the default plasma config I just added system monitors for memory+cpu usage and network traffic.

Anybody seeing similar issues with memory usage of the new plasma-5.19.0?

...seems like a recurring bug:

Leaks are easy to introduce, so there is not ONE possible leak in plasma.

I updated to plasma-5.19.1 and frameworks-5.71.0.
Still there is something leaking here. I have top running and I can watch plasmashell RES usage climb in the low kib range per second (4-20 kib/s), even when idle.
Is this really local to my installations? I see this on two stations (Lenovo Laptop and a completely custom built desktop PC, both running intel SandyBridge - i3 on the lappy and i7 on the desktop).
Nobody else with unusual high memory usage of plasmashell here?

(RES was at 244000 when I started this post, now it is at 247500... just for the record)
