Some parts of gtk2(?) corrupted on my comp

This morning I woke my laptop from its hibernation, and evolution was acting rather strange, so I tried a reboot. But when I logged in and issued a `startxfce4`, it would segfault when it reached xfce4-session. `X` started just fine, as did KDE (except kopete, strangely).

These are the things I've tried (in chronological order):
- Reinstalling xfce4-session (no result)
- Reinstalling the entire xfce4 group (no result)

After some investigation I found out that firefox also segfaults. So I tried to start some other apps. And to my surpise all apps except gtk2-based apps started just fine. But even `gtk-demo` segfaulted! So I tried this:

- Reinstalling gtk2 (no result)
- Reinstalling glib, glib2 and glibc (fixed my segfaulting problems)

So now I was able to start xfce4, but it didn't seem to be able to render icons. My xfce4-panel was completely iconless, as was the xfce4 configuration panel. Setting another icon theme didn't work. output.

Evolution also still crashed after it is partly started. Here's the output.

Thunar has also problems starting:

Thunar-ERROR **: Failed to load fallback icon from "/opt/xfce4/share/pixmaps/Thunar/Thunar-fallback-icon.png" (Onbekend afbeeldingstype). Check your installation!
aborting...

So, I have 4 question:
1. How can I fix my icons? (Most likely it's also due to some corrupted package, but which one?)
2. How can I fix evolution?
3. How can I fix thunar? (Most likely related to problem 1)
4. How on earth could such a massive corruption of data take place? Is my harddrive dying? Or is it a huge bug in suspend2?

Thanks in advance.
