Wifi driver issues

Hey, I've recently installed arch on my machine smile and the wifi adapter seems to not be connected.
As mentioned in the title my wifi driver doesn't work. From my research, I couldn't find an appropriate solution sad
However, on the wiki for my specific spec laptop, it says the wifi chipset DOES fully work.
- https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HP … _13-aw0xxx

Is there something I'm missing with the install? I've followed the standard installation process.

Currently running on HP Specter x360 Convertible 13-aw0xxx

Re: Wifi driver issues

I've had a look at that page tried installing those packages to no avail.

linux-firmware-iwlwifi-git
linux-firmware

Is there something I have to do after installing these packages?

Re: Wifi driver issues

You install either of them, as the page makes clear.

Then you work your way methodically through the WiFi page, and post exact commands and errors when you hit a wall.

Re: Wifi driver issues

Hi, maybe related to this bug (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=208141). Downgrading the kernel helped in my case (I am now using the LTS kernel until problem is solved).

Regards, S.

Re: Wifi driver issues

I think I have the same bug happening to me. Any idea when a fix for this issue may come? Luckily I have a terrible wifi dongle I can use to connect my PC to the internet in the meantime, but I'm working with 10% of the normal speed right now. However, I'm using the Linux-lts already and I have this issue

Kernel 5.7.3 was released today and might have a fix for the issue, the new versions usually make it into the [testing] repositories pretty quickly.

Hopefully it will soon become available, when using the main Linux kernel, my separate wifi USB stick also doesn't work hmm

Re: Wifi driver issues

So for the people with a dual boot to windows, TURN OFF FAST STARTUP!!
This took me so long to figure out, but basically windows has this feature to mess up your hardware ..........

Re: Wifi driver issues

ath9k_htc is working after downgrading to 5.7.2 and is broken in 5.7.3. Device is not being created while systemd log tells that firmware is successfully sent.
Kernel changelog tells that ath9k was changed in 5.7.3 somehow https://lwn.net/Articles/823313/
