Nvidia second monitor detected but not dispaying

I am using the NVIDIA proprietary drivers. I have two monitors connected to my gpu (gtx 1050) that has one HDMI port and one DisplayPort. The one that displays correctly is HDMI, the other one is a DP to HDMI cable because my monitor doesn't have a DisplayPort. As you can see by my Xrandr output, both are detected. I can even move my mouse over to the other screen, but it's just black. I even configured them with arandr and nvidia-settings. I've also read the wiki and gone over multiple threads with similiar issues and I can't get it to work. I just installed arch for the first time and this is my first post here. Let me know what other info you need!

Welcome to the forum, please edit your post and wrap the xrandr output in "code" tags, https://bbs.archlinux.org/help.php#bbcode

Does the blind monitor report a signal?
If no and assuming the adapter fails the HDMI handshake, did you try to swap the monitors (esp. if they're not the same model)?
Can you boot some live distro (grml or knoppix will do) and see whether the adapter works there?
Does a cold boot vs. a reboot make any difference?

Edited code with tags. I ended up trying a different DP to HDMI adapter and it worked for a minute, but opening windows or moving the mouse over to it causes the screen to turn off and on continuously. On for a second, then off for a second, etc. This leads me to believe it's an issue with my graphics card (specifically the DP port) and not arch. Both monitors are the same model, and it does the same thing on either one.

*edit: using xrandr to change the DP resolution to anything under 1920x1080 fixes it, but obviously 1920x1080 is preferred.

Is the monitor maybe a 50Hz Tv?

Unfortunately that didn't do anything. Also, the highest resolution that works on the DP to HDMI connected monitor is 1600x900 and both monitors are native 1080p up to 75hz. Would it help if I post my xorg.conf?

1680x1050@60 is at 146.25 MHz, 1600x900@60 at 118.25 MHz and the reduced blanking FullHD at 138.50 MHz
You could give

% cvt12 1920 1080 50 -b

a shot, it's below 1600x900@60 and if the output supports 50Hz it should™ work.
