[Solved] Surfing with Konqueror so slow...

Well, I installed arch and pacmaned with -Syu and installed kde group. As some of forum users already wrote,

Konqueror is too slow for browsing. Firefox is just flying away. I would like using konqueror because it's more lightweight and I like it! I tried to use KDE_NO_IPV6=true story, but I don't think it worked.
Konqueror just hangs for few seconds saying "Retrieving # of # images". For example if I want to setup CUPS and manage printers it needs more than 10 secs to load the small button images....

At work I have SuSE linux installed and Konqueror is just as fast as Firefox or even faster sometimes. Thus it cannot be a general bug of KDE, right? Can somebody please help me?

I think the problem is gone now: I forgot "export" in front of KDE_NO_IPV6. It seems to work now.

Yep, Konqueror doesn't like IPv6.

BTW, you can block anything on your system from using IPv6 or loading the module by putting

alias net-pf-10 off

in /etc/modprobe.conf.

so if I do that, I don't need to KDE_NO_IPV6 stuff, right?

I tried and till now the performance of konqueror is as good as as if I had done the KDE_NO_IPV6 thing.

The "alias net-pf-10 off" thingy is "better" for the simple reason it's not limited to KDE apps-only.
Other than that, both are equally effective.
