Goobook query results only include manually added contacts

First post, new to Arch and the forums, and loving every second. I accept any sarcasm, criticism and general insults with love and humility.

So, I installed Goobook. I'm getting results, but only of manually added contacts. So, for example, if I once emailed Donald Trump, then by typing 'Don' on contacts.google.com it pops up, but

goobook query Don

returns empty.

This may be a feature and not a bug but I was wondering if anyone got annoyed by this and found a solution. I tried setting

filter_groupless_contacts

to both yes and no (reloading after each change) but it didn't help.

Are you actually authenticated? See this issue a possible workaround.

Yes, thank you. I did see this and set everything up accordingly. I do get results for contacts that I added manually ("Add contact" on Google or Android or whatever) but I don't get the automatic results that I was hoping to get, of just people who emailed me / whom I emailed without adding as contacts. Those do pop up on contacts.google.com or when composing an email on gmail.com (God forbid).

Ah, I don't think those are available through the contacts API. Maybe there's a setting in Gmail to automatically add contacts that you email or have emailed you. Then those would be true 'contacts', not the 'suggestions' that Google remembers for you (even when I'd rather they didn't). But you can check with the Goobook developer and see if he has any ideas.
