I've got a constant static noise with my new headset, and it's annoying me to no end. I've searched this forum for answers, and got an answer to lower my mic boost - that did nothing. One thing I have noticed is that when I adjust the slider on the headset and lower the volume the static slowly goes away - is this pointing to a hardware issue? (I've also gone on tom'sguide for answers - they kept on talking about a Windows firmware update that finally fixed this, but how do I do this for Arch? - post is here: https://forums.tomsguide.com/threads/ne … s.378857/) My old headset of the exact same model had this as well. If I change the volume of my PC the static remains unchanged.
Help would be greatly appreciated! Tell me any commands that I need to post the output of if necessary.

Question is have you tried it on another computer / system / device and see if it continues to have the same issue?
Offline
Yes, and the issue disappears. That's why I suspect it's an issue with my system now.

How is your device plugged in? Are you plugging straight to your motherboard sound card, your laptop jack, or is there another interface?
Offline
It's plugged in via a mic-audio splitter, with these two then plugged in to front mic and front audio respectively.
