Microfreezes making the system completely unresponsive

Yestrday I did my fresh very first install of arch

First i installed gnome as the DE(wayland) then i started to had these microfreezes, they were minor in the beginning, somebody suggested me to change the DE to something lighter so i moved to xfce after a few hours those microfreezes came again,
so i updated my microcode as it was outdated.
Issue was still their
then i removed the xorg drivers (as an old thread suggested)

but it still didnt resolve!

what else can I do to fix this because i cant even use 3 apps in the background.

3 apps i use the most:
1. Chrome
2. VScode
3. telegram

in those microfreezes the whole system gets so unresponsive that i cant even manage to see bashtop to view if it is caused by some process!

How long do these microfreezes last?
Are you sure 'top' doesn't tell you anything useful?
Anything in the logs?

Microfreezes last for like a milli second everytime.

Its like a loop by the time it ends everything looks normal in top.

Microfreezes here looks similar like those wayland bug.

In yet another thread it was suggested removing xorg drivers might solve the issue, but didn't.

System Specs are ancient:

Intel i3 2nd gen 2100
RAM 4GB
HDD 2TB
Intel integrated graphics

Also another thing to notice was I faced no such microfreezes when i was using mxlinux.

Instead of throwing random solutions at the problem, start by analyzing the data your system is generating. As was requested by @ondoho: examine your logs and post back anything that you do not understand or what you think is causing the problem.

Running VSCode on 4 GB may be too much to ask for, so it could be your system is constantly swapping when you switch from app to app, but again that's pure speculation that can be easily identified by examining logs and observing your memory/swap usage.

If it really was a millisecond only you wouldn't notice it at all.

What you mean to say is, the UI or desktop freezes up for a very short time?

I don't know "those wayland bug".

I don't know which processor exactly you're refering to, but if it's much older than 5 years, then Gnome + all these heavy apps + limited RAM + spinning HD might indeed be problematic.
Your microfreezes might be swap activity, and that would indeed get faster with an SSD (but it wouldn't go away completely).

Enough speculation, give us something to work with.

I have new issue now, the issue i created this thread for was installed on an external HDD, which I unplugged and replugged it because of some reason, now its not booting, after the grub screen it shows some logs scrolling fast then just reboots on its own.

Its a different issue i know will I have to create a new thread for this?

if not pls tell me how to troubleshoot my HDD, guess i ll have to do that with a live usb ( i have mint in a thumb drive) what tools can I use?
