[Solved] Unknown Open Collaboration Service API error. (0)

Hello, I have looked through the wiki, and I wasn't able to find a solution to the problem.

Whenever I try to download a Theme, or anything KDE-UI related I get the Unknown Open Collaboration Service API error. (0) either as a pop-up or in the bottom of the window.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

From a quick googling, it seems clear that this happens when the remote host is down.  There may be others, but store.kde.org is named in some of the reports as what the software is trying to connect to.

I have already tried that, I can access the host from my browser but not from the Settings. Any ideas on how to update/change where the Settings option for Theme and other downloads?

Re: [Solved] Unknown Open Collaboration Service API error. (0)

Okay, so I have managed to find a solution that does seem to work for me.
Although no apparent issues appeared (other than the one mentioned above) I thought it would be a good idea to follow the installation guide for KDE-Plasma. (And Xorg since it is a dependency)

After following both installation instructions from the wiki (and yes I have read them during the install of Arch as well) it seemed that the issue is gone.

Wiki Pages I followed:
- Xorg: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg#Installation
- KDE: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KDE#Installation

Thanks to Trilby and everyone else who tried to help. I hope the instructions above can help you fix your problem as well.

I don't know if my approach is correct.
I am a Chinese user, and when I reinstalled the system again, I used 'setting' to get a new system theme, but when I set 'reational setting' and set the language to Chinese, I also encountered this error, The problem was fixed when I reset the language to 'English'.
Please correct me if you have any new findings.

I use the system with Hungarian language, and this error is also presented for Me.
The workaround solution:
Start the systemsettings application with English language from terminal:
LANG=en_US.UTF-8 systemsettings
