Applications move to external monitor when connected

Hi to all,
I've an asus n752vx and I've noted that when I connect an external monitor using the HDMI output, all the opened apps move to the external monitor and I have to manually move them back to the laptop monitor.
Is it possible to change this default behaviour?
I'm using KDE and NVIDIA proprietary drivers.
