In my setup, I have my main monitor connected to the GPU with display port. Then I have an AV receiver hooked up to the GPU through HDMI. I only use the AV receiver to play audio through my speaker system, not to use as a second monitor. However, nvidia-settings always sees this as another display. If I set the configuration to 'disabled' in the nvidia-settings screen settings, it stops the audio from going through as well. Is there a way to tell the GPU that the av receiver is not a display device?

DisplayPort also supports audio, maybe you can connect the AV receiver with the monitor ?
Does the AV receiver have audio-only inputs ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky
