Low FPS on main screen consistently

Running nvidia driver 450.57, GTX 1070. Intel i5-8600K

My main monitor is connected through display port, 2560x1440 at 144hz. Ever since a crash from overclocking too high (back to stable now), the monitor changes in brightness slightly flickering, gets well below 30fps, and has almost a second delay. My second monitor is plugged into the same gpu through hdmi at 1080 75hz and is running smoothly with no flicker or drop in fps.

The issue persists after running "xrandr --output DP-2 --mode 2560x1440 --rate 144.00"

I ran "pacman -S nvidia nvidia-utils" to try to reinstall the drivers but I'm pretty stuck on what the issue could be.

Re: Low FPS on main screen consistently

Solved: turning off G-SYNC in OpenGL settings fixed it. Would love to know what changed to make it not work though.
