[Resolved] Samsung monitor - "Not optimum mode"

Hello all,

I recently bought 2 samsung monitors which i am connecting to my Thinkpad X1 Extreme. 1 on the HDMI port and the other is on the USBC port.

- The monitor connected to the HDMI port works without any issues.
- The monitor connected to the USBC port is connected using this cable https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07CL2 … UTF8&psc=1. However, It shows a black screen with "Not optimum mode, recommended mode 1920X1080 60Hz" message.

Arch linux is setup on my laptop with nvidia proprietry drivers.

Re: [Resolved] Samsung monitor - "Not optimum mode"

Answering my own question:

I got into the BIOS settings and under "Display" the graphics mode was set to "Hybrid graphics", setting this to "Discrete" fixed the issue.
