Nordvpn was working recently but now seems to be not working properly maybe since a recent kernel update to 5.7.10-arch1-1
nordvpn c toronto - seems to connect to a server in Wichita, KS not toronto. The length of ping is almost 80 ms when I would expect under 15 from Toronto
nmcli device show wlan0 confirms that I am using a nordvpn server in the us.
I completely removed nordvpn-bin and reinstalled from aur using git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/nordvpn-bin.git ....cd.... makepkg -si
Restarted the nordvpnd and logged back on nordvpn but still get the same behaviour as stated above.
I am guessing that a more recent version of nordvpn-bin might help and wonder if there is any way I can upgrade the version that is accessed via the PKGBUILD in AUR.
Final note: Problem was with some of nordvpn's Canadian servers. Using nordvpn c caxxxx where xxxx is a server suggested by the Nordvpn site seems to fix.

A PKGBUILD is just a build script in bash: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PKGBUILD
You can adapt the AUR one to pull updated sources.
Having said that, most VPN packages are redundant: you just need to set up the configs for openvpn and add the vendor specific servers and credentials. You don't need a package at all.

I found that the nordvpn package will select the best server (speed, closeness) rather than just coding a bunch of servers into openvpn, so it is a convenient VPN package. Also want to use NordLynx ...but I will take a look to see if I can create my own script to build and updated version of nordvpn.
Hey, just more the learn which is why I'm here...Thanks Ray
