With megasync as an example, the icons don't display in the system tray. Not sure how to get them to become active or if there is a service that needs to be started.
I installed gnome-applets assuming that would do the trick, but didn't work. Not sure where else to look, so if any extra info is needed, I'd love to provide it.
Thanks for the help

You'll need to install the gnome-shell-extension-appindicator extension either via the GNOME Extensions website or the AUR package.

Thanks for the response. I installed the AUR package but the icons still aren't showing. Are there any system modifications I would need to make for it to work?

You'll need to restart GNOME Shell as well. On X11, press Alt+F2 and type "r". On Wayland, you'll have to logout /login.

Yes. I did that but icons are showing. Do I have to enable the extension anywhere? Not sure what other things I'd need to do.

Found a fix. I had to install the extension here...
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/ … -reloaded/
Worked immediately. Will mark as solved.
