[solved]How can I copy from urxvt and paste in firefox?

I can't copy anything from urxvt to firefox,but I can copy from firefox to urxvt.

I use fluxbox,anyone can help me?

Try to select the text via mouse and press the scroll button in your browser.

Add these lines to your .Xdefaults:

URxvt*perl-ext:                 default,mark-urls
URxvt*urlLauncher:              firefox

and source it with xrdb ~/.Xdefaults. Then double-click on the url on urxvt, press Ctrl and right click the url. Select 'run firefox' and you're good to go.

...or you can just middle-click the link and it'll open in firefox.

And you're right . I was using it my laptop with the touchpad (which needs both buttons to be clicked to act as a middle click) and it never crossed my mind. Thanks stonecrest.

There are several different copy/paste systems. There might be others too, but I actively use these:

- ctrl-c/ctrl-x/ctrl-v in most GTK and QT apps, in urxvt it's shift-insert to paste (but I dunno if you can copy/cut from urxvt)
- select text and it will automaticly be copied to a special clipboard which you can paste from with [middle click,click scrollwheel or click right+left mousebutton at the same time] in most (all?) X applications

That's the way X does it's clipboard... middle click pastes what is selected (the PRIMARY selection). It gets odd at times, especially in the scenario: select text, go to firefox, hit Ctrl-L, which highlights the url and blows away the previously selected text.

You might want to look into autocutsel to sync the selection to the clipboard.
