[Solved] To Enlarge LVM on LUKS partition (which is booted by itself)

This is my first resizing of LUKS partition, so I just want to be sure.

Looking up the wiki of "Resizing LVM-on-LUKS" (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Re … VM-on-LUKS),
there's no warning like, 'You should boot with live-cd or live-usb to enlarge LUKS partition "unmounted"'.

So, can I perform this enlarging job on the very LUKS system partition with it booted itself ?

( I found that I should boot with live-media, when I shrink LUKS partition, so with it unmounted.
but I just need to enlarge it. )

Yes, you can extend an LVM volume even if it's mounted.

In situations like this, you can always test it yourself either by creating a small LVM on LUKS partition using spare space on your drive or on a USB stick, and experiment with it. You can also simulate it using a virtual machine. Easier than posting a question, then wait and hope someone will answer.

Successfully have enlarged LVM in LUKS.

However, the wiki about this resizing of it seems not to be general but to be specific in case that you move the partition into new bigger partition or new hardware.

I booted by the arch live-usb media, but following the steps from the wiki didn't go smooth.
Another reference (https://unix.stackexchange.com/question … -fill-disk),
helped me complete my enlarging job.
