[SOLVED] Entire System freezes completely

Problem:
-------------
After some time my desktop completely freezes. I got ARCH with the linux-5.4.53-1-lts kernel installed. I am not able to move my mouse do keyboard inputs etc. The audio and video stops also.

Two things which may help:
-------------------------------------
1. I tried to switch the Numpad on/off but the numlock key didnt do anything ( not even switching the numpad led ) and since the numlock key is handled on a lower level than all the other keys I think that there may be a kernel problem.

2. I tried out following `sudo journalctl -xe` and found this line
`The unit UNIT has successfully entered the 'dead' state.`

Some details about my system:
------------------------------------------
- OS: Arch Linux
- Kernel: linux-5.4.53-1-lts
- Desktop Environment: GNOME 3.36.4
- Windowing System: X11
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050TI | Driver: NVIDIA 450.57

Re: [SOLVED] Entire System freezes completely

I have had similar problems... try a newer kernel.  FWIW: I am running 5.7.10 successfully.

So I should use `linux` instead of `linux-lts`?

You can keep both linux and linux-lts kernels. To my knowledge they don't conflict. I keep them in case one of the kernels starts misbehaving - it allows me to diagnose the issue and survive till fix is available. Depending on your boot loader, you will get choice during power-on which kernel you want to boot into.
