can't search bbs -- "504 Gateway Time-out / nginx 1.18.0"

[Please note that my problem is that I can't search bbs.archlinux.org -- I apologize if my search by hand and by google  was not exhaustive and this question has already been answered]

When I choose "Search" from the menu in bbs.archlinux.org
and then do a search for some keywords, I almost always receive the response

504 Gateway Time-out
nginx/1.18.0

after about a minute. Please note that I do not have nginx installed myself. The only suggestions I seem to find online that apply in this case are to change my DNS servers, which I did from 8.8.4.4 to 1.1.1.1 to no avail. Would a more drastic change be likely to help?

WHat can i do to enable searching bbs.archlinux.org to return results and not just time-out in this fashion?

I can't repeat your problem, search works fine for me.

Are you behind a proxy?
