Ideapad 5 Laptop lid switch/power button don't work

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 5 laptop. The lid switch (

/proc/acpi/button/lid/LID0/state

) always reads

open

, even when the laptop is closed. In addition to that, the power button doesn't seem to do anything. Both of these peripherals worked in Windows 10, which is what the laptop came with.

I've tried the LTS (

linux-lts

), Stable (

linux

), and mainline (

linux-mainline-bootsplash

[AUR]) kernels. All of them have this problem.

acpid does not pick up any ACPI events when the lid is closed or the button is pressed. dmesg does not have any info either.
