Can't maintain connection with Bluetooth keyboard

i have been using the Royal Kludge RK61 for a couple weeks now with Arch Linux. Since then, I built a new system and now need to switch the bluetooth keyboard over to the new system.

I followed the exact same steps as before:

* install bluez
* install blueman
* sudo systemctl enable/start bluetooth

I open up blueman-applet, and I can search and connect to the device as expected. But the RK61 goes into "hibernate" mode if it is left along for more than a few minutes, which I find extremely annoying. On my old build, the keyboard would take a good 6 seconds to 'wake up' and reconnect to the system.

Now, it simply doesn't reconnect. When I try to press buttons on the keyboard, I get the following notification asking me to pair with the keyboard

The only issue is there is ZERO indication on how to actually accept the pairing request. I don't even know what is generating the notification.

If I go to the device manager and try and manually connect to the device, it hangs for a second and then gives:

Connection Failed:  Input/output error

So far the only fix has been to completely forget the device and go through the searching and pairing process all over again, every time it goes to sleep.

This is super lame. How can i debug this and figure out how to fix it??

Hi there, with bluetootctl you'd normally ; pair trust connect and you need to enter a six digit pin(pair), at least for my keyboard..
I also tried with blueman-applet and it seems the same: pair(enter key) trust connect, I miss these steps in your description.
The popup is sent by blueman, though,  mine also shows a pin I need to enter. Try adn follow the steps I showed above, in that order. Also try the same with bluetoothctl if unsuccessful.
