[SOLVED] Trying to get Logitech MX Keys keyboard to pair

I'm trying to get this keyboard paired with my Lenovo X1 Extreme (Gen 2) laptop.

I'm not using the unifying receiver (although I tried that too), just Bluetooth.

The keyboard is detected and displayed by Bluetooth Manager (along with the indicators for what I assume are signal strength).

However, when I try to pair, it fails several seconds

I have successfully connected a Logitech MX Master mouse  and a different bluetooth keyboard with no hassle.

Looking for some guidance, as I really like this keyboard.

Thanks.

I don't know if that was meant to be snarky (i'll give the benefit of the doubt here), but I've done that and not able to get the pairing to establish.

Don't go into all the other posts on the Forum and reply with "Google how to X..."

If the keyboard has the unifying receiver functionality, why not connect to it instead of bluetooth? Although less secure (but who's going to monitor your key-logging?) it is more direct than BT.
Install sonaar to configure your unifying receiver.

Re: [SOLVED] Trying to get Logitech MX Keys keyboard to pair

Thanks @d_farardo.

For anyone that has the same issue and finds this the solution can be found at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bluetooth_keyboard

Specifically the section here: Note: Some keyboards, such as Microsoft Surface Ergonomic, will send a pass code (e.g. "[agent] Passkey: 501334") which has to be typed in on the bluetooth keyboard followed by the key Enter in order to pair successfully. Use "paired-devices" command to double check if the pairing succeeded.

Thank you so much @T-Fen !

For others that have the same issue and wonder what to do :

Installing bluez-utils end following launching the pairing process manually give you access to the passkey that you can tape on you MX key to allow pairing process to succeed.

This operation Is needed only for the first connection !

writed on a brand nex MX Key
