My X server installation does not seem to be working. It says "Xauth: no .Xauthority file" and then says " waiting for X server to begin accepting connections..

(dots continue)
There is no response from the system after that unless i switch to a different tty. I run an AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Vega 11 graphics and a Radeon RX5500 XT that has been there for a few months. Recently while updating GRUB settings on Debian (I was switching) I noticed that an Intel microcode image was also being detected. I removed it and installed the AMD image and rebooted, after which I switched to Arch and the problem happened. I cannot start X or access my files. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
PS absolute Arch noob, don't hate if i said something wrong
PPS Also learning English so don't hate on my grammar either ![]()
Thanks again!

How did you install Arch? Did you follow arch wiki installation guide?
Did you install xorg-xserver, gpu drivers, did you create a user other then root? What DE are you using, what display manager you installed.
Why do you use intel microcode when you have AMD CPU?

Please wrap command outputs [ code ] [ /code ] tags without the spaces.
Is linux-firmware installed? Do so if it isn't.
What you can also try is doing a BIOS/UEFI firmware update, you have quite an old version here, many CPU/GPU firmware bugs on ryzen can/have been fixed by doing so.
Should neither of these two things have helped try the following kernel parameters
amdgpu.dc=0 amdgpu.dpm=0 amdgpu.aspm=0 amdgpu.runpm=0 amdgpu.bapm=0should that help start removing parameters again so you can get down to one or two culprits
It also looks like this is the underlying issue to your other thread as such I'll merge them to keep things centralized...

linux firmware is installed, intel-ucode was installed along with base for some reason. removed and put amd-ucode in it's place. However no updates were released ot either microcode so the CPU was fine. My BIOS version is only 3 releases behind and none of the releases after have major bugfixes so i do not see any utility in updating my UEFI. No UEFI errors or bugs are reported in either
dmesgor
journalctl -xb. I did follow the Arch installation guide; and i have done it a few times inside a VM for practice and to see for any issues. But thanks for the help, will try the kernel parameters. ![]()
EDIT: I did try the kernel parameters but now i hang at the fsck screen. Any idea as to why this happens?
