Firefox broken by update

Hello, my Firefox browser has broken after a ~2 month update.

The address bar is not working as a search bar and I am not getting any suggestions from it.

Search engine settings are blank, my custom search keywords are gone.

I went ahead and renamed places.sqlite to rebuild the database to no avail.

Is there something wrong with the latest package or is it just me?

Define "latest package". It's just you.

Paste the output of `pacman -Syu --debug`.

Re: Firefox broken by update

Try to create a whole new profile and use firefox sync to repopulate it from the broken one.

Re: Firefox broken by update

I went on the Mozilla Bugzilla and we are trying to debug the problems. I will update this thread as things progress.

For starters, there seems to be something wrong with the IndexedDB.

My main problems are the complete lack of search engines in Firefox and an enormous right-click context menu with every option available, no matter what I right click on, with options like open in new tab not working.

Re: Firefox broken by update

There is a second bug report linked in the original one. That one is for x86_64 Linux.

Re: Firefox broken by update

For me the issues just kind of went away after a day or so. Still seem to be on 79.0.

The biggest issue I was having was not being able to change tabs randomly. I struggled through turning off a bunch of extensions but was frustrated and might not have tested after turning off the last one, so it is possible that last extension was causing issues. I haven't re-enabled everything yet as I don't want to risk it, but will get to it eventually.
