Warning- incomplete image error after yay -Syu steam-native-runtime
Hi guys,
I'm sorry if this has been covered (I did look but couldn't find it), furthermore, I know I had a go at trying to get steam to run on my m11rx the other night whilst inhebriated, thus I'm unsure on exactly what I did......
I had another go today, did some reading of log files, and realised I possibly hadn't done some of the already-covered-here basic trouble shooting, specifically, installing steam-native-runtime.
So, I did yay -Syu steam-native-runtime, and got the following in my term....

I did try to use code tags (<code></code>) but only realised they didnt work here after posting and I've just been trying to search for ones that do work here (still not found out...what are the code tags that work here, or could you point me to where it tells you please)
I wasn't sure a) which sub forum to place this as it wasn't obvious to me, and b) I had no idea it was an incompatibility issue, hence the post. I'd have thought I'd not be the only one using this laptop with steam on arch and thered have been another post regarding this issue....however, I'm obviously not too good at searching for these issues and we all know what assumptions make....
And regarding the link you posted, despite having used arch for the past few years, and linux in general the past couple decades, I can't see where it points out that my issue is an incompatability issue between steam-native-runtime and the new kernel. This is most likely either down to my incompetence, or inability to see what is right in front of me. Could you point it out please, or direct me to where might explain how I can see/understand it for my self?

There is no incompatibility between steam-native-runtime and linux-5.8 that I know of.
Nothing you posted shows the issue was caused by steam-native-runtime. You performed a full system update. The link I posted was for an update to the AUR package nvidia-390xx.
DKMS failed to build the nvidia module for linux 5.8 and the 390xx nvidia package is in AUR so I am assuming that is the one you are using.

The way I see it, nvidia-390xx(-git) was fixed mere hours after you posted what might have been the cause for the fix.
