MFC-240C scanner detected with sane-find-scanner but not scanimage

I have a Brother MFC-240C USB All-in-one printer/scanner.

I've installed the mfc-240c printer driver from AUR and the brscan2 scanner driver. Output from lsusb:

Bus 003 Device 007: ID 04f9:01ab Brother Industries, Ltd MFC-240C

Output from sane-find-scanner:

found USB scanner (vendor=0x04f9, product=0x01ab) at libusb:003:007

However, scanimage -L only finds my webcam but not my scanner:

device `v4l:/dev/video0' is a Noname UVC Camera (046d:081b) virtual device

Both Simple-Scan and XSane do not detect my brother scanner. My scanner works fine on another ubuntu machine. Any suggestions?

Re: MFC-240C scanner detected with sane-find-scanner but not scanimage

Just a note, this is not a permission problem.

sudo scanimage -L also results in no brother scanner being found, while the sane-find-scanner is able to find my usb scanner.

Anyone have the same problem?
