I installed arch with kde plasma and gnome 2 days ago it was working fine, later I tried to install a lightdm-webkit2-greeter theme called glorious
https://github.com/manilarome/lightdm-w … e-glorious
But I was working fine even after several reboots.
Then I changed my appearance, system time, , many things
Tried to configure synaptics files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
Then when I tried to change lockscreen appearance and some appearance stuff the the system settings of kde stoped working.
So I restarted my laptop, then I don't get a login screen.
I tried running boot process verbose by removing quiet option in grub menu.
It stopped at account services for about 10 mins.
I used a live USB to chroot and stopped lightdm and enabled sddm
Then arch stuck at "reached target graphical interface"
I tried to stop sddm and start gdm
But whenever I enter my password and log in it gets me back to the same gdm page
I tried many things recommend in many forum post, so I'm not exactly sure what mess I have caused
I still can't get in to plasma.
Thanks in advance ❤️

Please post the journal for an affected boot, the contents of Xorg.log and any X config file you have created or changed.

Thanks for replying,
I saw the Xorg.0.log file , 20.synaptics.conf had some issues.
removed the file and reboot, Problem solved.

Please mark the thread as solved.
Simply removing the configuration file (if it wasn't created by you) could result in other problems. Synaptics is about peripherals afaik. Maybe you have to install xf86-input-libinput or xf86-input-evdev..
Is you want to make sure that everything is fine, I would suggest reading https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg#Input_devices
