font Cantarell in terminal is strange

Cantarell font in i3 bar works perfectly fine but that font in terminal is strange. I tried it in alacritty st and terminator
any help would be seriously appreciated

No VTE has sane support for variable width fonts.
One might claim that variable width fonts contradict fundamental concepts of shell I/O (though in reality it's mostly text alignment in tables etc.)

=> Use a monospace font.
