When I use system-config-printer, click Server>Connect, and put in the IP address (192.168.1.69), I can use the printer (Brother HL-2220) remotely... as long as I keep that window up. If I try to set it up using "Add", one of two things happens.
If I use the automatic detection of the printer:
Processing - Unable to locate printer "raspberrypi.local".
Even though I've already enabled Avahi's .local hostname resolution...
And if I try IPP, and using ipp://192.168.1.69/printers/printer-queue for example, choosing Brother > Brother HL2220 for CUPS, and print a test page...
Processing - Use "pdftops-renderer" option (see cups-filters README file) to use Ghostscript or MuPDF for the PDF -> PostScript conversion.
If I can get the printer working temporarily using Server>Connect, how can I get it working permanently?
