[Solved] pam_cracklib.so Module is unknown.

I have configured /etc/pam.d/passwd like this

#%PAM-1.0
password required pam_cracklib.so difok=2 minlen=8 dcredit=2 ocredit=2 retry=3
#password required pam_unix.so sha512 shadow use_authtok
password required pam_unix.so sha512 shadow nullok minlen=10

Its kinda the default but I have kind of enabled pam_cracklib.so

When I try to change password as a normal user after the latest update, I get

abhiram@Destroyer ~ % passwd
Changing password for abhiram.
Current password:
passwd: Module is unknown
passwd: password unchanged

I have done ls /usr/lib/security/pam_cracklib.so which says it don't exist.

In the journal, I can see that there are errors being logged as the file is missing

Aug 25 23:11:29 Destroyer passwd[4143505]: PAM unable to dlopen(/usr/lib/security/pam_cracklib.so): /usr/lib/security/pam_cracklib.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Aug 25 23:11:29 Destroyer passwd[4143505]: PAM adding faulty module: /usr/lib/security/pam_cracklib.so
Aug 25 23:11:35 Destroyer passwd[4143505]: pam_unix(passwd:chauthtok): authentication failure; logname= uid=1000 euid=0 tty= ruser= rhost= user=abhiram

/usr/lib32/security/pam_cracklib.so do exist.

Did I configure anything wrong for this error to occur..

Re: [Solved] pam_cracklib.so Module is unknown.

It was dropped in pam 1.4 you can use pam_pwquality from libpwquality.
