[solved] Laptop won't respond, CPU LED always on

A few days ago I rma'd my asus vivobook x512 due to memory issues. It came back and everything looked fine, I restored my clonezilla image and ran memtest86, all good.

After a while I set it to sleep (from kde plasma), and when I came back it didn't respond to any input. The white LED is always on, and the orange charging LED is always off, whether I plug the power cable or not. Holding the power button for more than 10 seconds turns the white LED off, but it turns on as soon as I let go.

There's nothing on the screen, no fans, no caps lock light. I can't imagine what might be causing this.

I have already contacted asus through my country's network, but I'm afraid it's too late today, and tomorrow is the weekend. Is there anything I could do? Maybe manually disconnect the battery? Or would that void my warranty?

This is copied from tomshardware. I'm not sure if the issue is related to arch or some hardware fault, but I figured i should ask.

I don't know about warranty but there are many youtube video's showing that it's easy to disconnect the battery. If you are careful (and consider ESD safety) it should be alright.
After disconnecting you can hold the power button for a few seconds and then wait for at least 30 seconds. This procedure might fix it.

Alright, I had to buy a new phillips head but it worked. I'm replying from the laptop in question. I think I'll be avoiding sleeping in the future. I noticed that it enters into grub almost instantaneously, whereas before it showed the asus logo for maybe half a second. Though the logo is still there before grub. I'm sure it's nothing.

Thank you for the reassurance.
