I wanted to play total war warhammer 2 with a friend who runs windows. So I wanted to play the proton version of the game, but when I ran it, the graphics degraded significantly. And when I checked the graphics section, the graphics card was set to intel, rather than my nvidia one in my tower. My friend had had a similar issue on windows and deactivated the card to avoid the issue, but I can't seem to find a solution that is not tailored specifically for ubuntu or multiple monitors.
I tried to make minimal nvidia config files botht the recomended 20-nvidia.conf and the deprecated xorg.conf that autogenerates, but my xorg server then stopped displaying the windows, merely running. I could cancel the process.
I don't know if this is too relevant, but output of lspci
$ lspci | grep -e VGA -e 3D
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation UHD Graphics 630 (Desktop 9 Series) (rev 02)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation TU106 [GeForce RTX 2070 Rev. A] (rev a1)

Just disable the intel card in your BIOS/UEFI is probably the simplest and most surefire way.
