speaker-test is giving me sound, but nothing else works

I'm a newbie, installing arch for the first time. My sound is not working, only when I run

 speaker-test 

I hear some noise in my headphones. I already ran

  amixer set Master unmute 

and

 amixer set Headphone unmute 

.
What can I do to fix my sound?
