How to sort AUR packages by popularity while installing something ?

AUR providers like yay, trizen, etc. have their own syntaxes to install something. But none of them provide documentation about how to sort out the packages in "popularity" order instead of default "alphabetical order". There's a percentage for every package that shows "popularity" i.e, total no of installs to that package from all users. That's what I want to sort them, not by alphabetical order.

pacman doesn't send reports on installed packages like some other managers.

There's pkgstats but it's entirely optional (and, I'd argue, not widely installed).

  --sortby <votes|popularity|id|baseid|name|base|submitted|modified>
              Sort AUR results by a specific field during search.

I'm sure other helpers will have similar flags, so I'm not quite certain which documentation you are reading to make the claim that they do not document this.
