Hello,
So I reinstalled Arch Linux and copied my backups over the the freshly installed system.
Accidently, I've overwritten shadow, group, passwd, etc.
There was still a root shell open, so I reinstalled some meta-packages like follows:
pacman -Sy base base-devel linux-lts linux-firmware man-db posix
Then I reset all the passwords with passwd and the error seems to be fixed.
I also reinstalled sudo and gnome-keyring and everything seems to work.
Now, when I log in to X or Wayland I get a gnome-keyring prompt. Entering my password does not work.
Keymap is set correctly. Also I clicked on "show password" to verify.
This error message is annoying me. How do I get rid of this?

You have to delete the gnome keyring as well, since it seems to be synched to the old password...
It lives inside ~/.local/share...somewhere I can’t recall or XDG_DATA_HOME if defined.
Edit: better, just follow the wiki:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GN … he_keyring
Note that if you define XDG_DATA_DIR you have to go there instead of the default dir.
In normal scenarios that’s not the case...

So it’s fixed? Remember to mark as solved if fixed.
