Mirrors stopped upgrading

I'm having issues with the mirrors I'm normally using.

Normally I'm using surfnet.nl or nluug.nl
For the current db they both show a date  as much as a week ago:

-rw-rw-r-- 1 500 450 70101 Aug 20 18:21 current.db.tar.gz

While belnet.be shows:

-rw-r----- 1 ftp ftp 70881 Aug 26 23:32 current.db.tar.gz

A solution is to use the belnet mirror, but there must be a reason for this.. and ofcource... a better solution tongue

Any thougts on this?

Re: Mirrors stopped upgrading

after getting pissed off, cos i get a boner after the homepage shows a new package upgrade lol...and the running 'bleed' (pacman -Syu(custom function)) to find out that auto-chosen repo hasn't synced yet... i simply edited the pacman.conf so all official repos are located at archlinux.org, never had this issue again...

I'm not really willing to use the main-mirrors. They're far away and therefor slow. Also, mirrors are there to spread the bandwith and all. For that, they have however tongue

Also, I've send the surfnet team an e-mail with my question.
I'll drop down the response here when I get it.

Re: Mirrors stopped upgrading

yes mirrors are there to spread bandwidth...but i figured.. evryoen thinks like that, so the main servers aren't that stressed so why not.. afterall, i can tell no difference bewteen using the archlinux.org servers which are based in teh us (i think) or the ultrahighspeed belnet servers not located to far away from the uk...

ps, it's good took to timeout to email them about it.. afterall there could have been an error of some sorts and they didn't notice it  8)  ...
