EDIT: OK so
options snd_hda_intel index=0 model=tpt460
worked, kinda triggers my ocd but it works.
ALSA auto-mute is enabled but not working so I hear sound from headphones and built-in speakers at the same time.
From my googling so far it would seem like problem is the combined headphone+mic jack, so I followed the instructions here:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad … TRRS)_jack
and put the following on /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf:
options snd_hda_intel index=0 model=headset-mic
According to https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ … odels.html
Since there's no option for my particular model of ThinkPad I just went with the generic option (I assume)
headset-mic
Indicates a combined headset (headphone+mic) jack
and after a reboot it was sill the same.
