[SOLVED] Can't connect to sites using a browser or curl from wifi

hi im new to arch linux
i have broadcom wifi card with b43-firmware
i also tried b43-firmware-classic but it only caused more problems like hardware key to toggle wifi wont work and the range indicator suddenly drops

i am able to connect to internet using usb tethering but i cant do it with wifi
i also followed the troubleshoot guide but didnt understand much what was going on

I see nothing wrong in that ouput. How are you attempting to connect? What symptoms indicate that you do not have a connection? Can you ping domain names (e.g., google.com)? Can you ping ip addresses, (e.g., 8.8.8.8)?

How about your name server settings?

$ cat /etc/resolv.conf

You have different subnets: can you use wifi normally from your mobile phone. why are you using usb tethering? your cable network doesn't work either?

Please update your title (by editing your first post) to actually reflect your problem. You are connected to the internet - you have specific problems with curl and browsers. Is this limited to https sites?

@solskog, domain names are clearly properly resolved. Please actually read threads you plan to post in.

This site is not an ideal test as it redirects to https. But still the ipv4 connection worked fine. What's the output of each of the following:

This looks a lot like some VPN/proxy/firewall/governanny fumbling w/ the TCP since tethering works (=> cannot be local issue) and http works (doesn't seem to be HW issue) and your phone isn't in the same subnet - so it would indeed be interesting whether it connects to the same router (subnet)

I am using my phone's data connection to connect to the internet
and i use that same phone as the wifi hotspot and usb tethering for my laptop
when i use usb tethering i can use internet fine
but the above issue show up when i connect using wifi hotspot

I found the problem
the issue is with the rom of my phone
I can connect to the web fine with a normal router or other hotspot from other phone

I am using a custom rom Paranoid Android (quartz 4) on my asus max pro m1, it might be a bug in the rom. My laptop I completely fine
