Hi, i am, trying to burn a disc but i am taking some errors..
like.. with wodim
i made a rule
/etc/udev/rules.d/82-cdrom.rules
SUBSYSTEM=="block", KERNEL=="sr0", GROUP="optical"
, i added myself to group optical, i have not any line(about dvd) at etc/fstab and finally i executed
sudo chown username:username /dev/sr0 with no result...

It fails because of all the "Insufficient * privileges." errors (thus works as root) - in doubt suid the binary (wodim and cdrecord don't seem to be in the repos anymore?)

i tried with wodim because k3b failed -> Probably a buffer underrun occurred. Please choose a lower speed.

@euromatlox, yes that's a known bug in the package - see #13 (the important part is the suid'ing "4", the trailing "11" instead "55" only means that group and world can execute but not read the file.
The OP seems past that but have issues w/ medium and or writer.
@mpamphslinuxrock, the message said "Please choose a lower speed." - try whether you can burn at single speed (which is slow and will take > 1h to fill a complete disc) and post an updated wodim error log

the media is brand new and the drive bought before 4 months...
I am able to burn the disk to another machine (Debian box with asus DVD drive)
