Trying to build the new GNOME

So I'm trying to build the new gnome, to get used to how it works (any maybe help out at some later stages). Of course that's not to easy :D

My biggest issue for now is the build sequence. Because I honestly don't know what to build at first. Some stuff does not depend on much. Other things might tell you whats needed. But for example gnome-shell fails to build: https://paste.gnome.org/pplr3eppu and I don't know what to do with that

ERROR: Error in gtkdoc helper script:

ERROR: ['/usr/bin/gtkdoc-mkhtml', '--path=/build/gnome-shell/src/gnome-shell/docs/reference/shell:/build/gnome-shell/src/build/docs/reference/shell', 'shell', '../shell-docs.sgml'] failed with status 6
warning: failed to load external entity "../xml/shell-recorder.xml"
../shell-docs.sgml:41: element include: XInclude error : could not load ../xml/shell-recorder.xml, and no fallback was found

And this might not be the only one. So is there any source to read, someone to ask, an place to be to start with this?
