[SOLVED] kdesu ignoring .config/kdesurc

I can't seem to get kdesu to use sudo rather than su/root login. I've followed the steps here (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sudo#kdesu) and the GUI password prompt in KDE apps like System Settings still asks for the root password even after rebooting.

❯ cat .config/kdesurc
[super-user-command]
super-user-command=sudo

I've also tried installing kdesudo from the AUR but the build of a dependency (kdelibs) fails. Looking at the AUR page for kdelibs, it seems like it's been broken for sometime now (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kdelibs). Has anyone got this working? Am I missing something obvious?

The dialog lists PolicyKit as the authentication framework that is being used,  which is not connected to sudo / su.
Please replace the image with a thumbnail or link it is oversized in width.

Sorry about the image, I edited it to be a link. I'll look into PolicyKit. Thanks for the help!
