Monero GUI Wallet not recognising hardware devices

I have both a Trezor Model T and Ledger Nano X and I have never managed to make either of them work with monero-gui. Since I don't have enough space, I attempt to to start everything on Simple Mode→Create a new wallet from hardware→Create a new wallet from device, but the list box prompting you to choose your hardware device is always empty, even though the wallet is connected and is up and running.

I have no problems using either of these devices with other applications: my Ledger works just fine with the AppImage provided by the manufacturer as well as a web wallet for Cosmos, while with Trezor I have been able to work with the Trezor website, the Decrediton wallet and the NEM Wallet as well, so there has to be some configuration missing from the Monero GUI wallet.

For Ledger, I have updated udev as they instruct for Arch in their website.
For Trezor, I have also updated the udev rules following their website as well as having the trezor-bridge-bin and python-trezor packages installed from the AUR.
