[SOLVED] Audio device not detected

Hello there,

I spent days finding a solution for my problem but it's getting worse.

I installed Arch and KDE. After a freshinstall, I can't see any audio devices. So I worked with the pulseaudio troubleshooting wiki articles and tried many things with alsamixer. After some research I found the kernel parameter "snd_hda_intel.dmic_detect=0" and tried it out. Since then my speakers work, but my built-in microphone doesn't (I mean better than nothing). When I plug in my Logitech G935 Headset (USB wireless) it is only recognized without the given kernel parameter. As I couldn't find any useful additional information, I hope you guys can help me.

dmesg output (guess the relevant part)

Re: [SOLVED] Audio device not detected

Remove the kernel parameter and follow https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad … A_Firmware instead.

However in any case it's borderline impossible that that specific kernel parameter and your USB headset "not being recognized" are related. What's more likely to happen is that you don't look at the correct spots. so if this isn't completely fixed by installing the mentioned packages, post

aplay -lL
arecord -l

Re: [SOLVED] Audio device not detected

You are a god. Thank you so much. Installing the firmware packages fixed everything for me. My whole soundcard gets detected now (even HDMI sound works now) and my microphone is also working. When I plugin my headset it works without any delay. Thank you so much that cost me hours of trying. I even read the article you posted, but I somehow skipped this section.

PS: With the given kernel parameter enabled, my headset was at least not automaticly recognized by kmix. I also couldn't find it in the alsamixer device list. But anyways its fixed now smile))))
