[SOLVED] Libreoffice broken after recent update

After running an update I get the following error when starting libreoffice:

/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/libskialo.so: undefined symbol: FT_Palette_Select

Can anyone help?

Re: [SOLVED] Libreoffice broken after recent update

You either have a partial update with an old freetype package, or you have a rogue freetype library somewhere. Check all of your AUR packages.

Re: [SOLVED] Libreoffice broken after recent update

Thanks, yes it seems there was a conflict with two packages: freetype2 and freetype2-cleartype.  Removing freetype2-cleartype has fixed this.

It's not obvious to me, how does one mark a post as solved?

Re: [SOLVED] Libreoffice broken after recent update

I just now had the same problem, but with a different cause: I use java-8-adoptopenjdk as default jvm, which contains its own libfreetype2.so. I decided to just delete that file, as the other JDKs don't come with one, and now libreoffice works again for me.
